Easts Together – May 2024 Highlights

The Easts Group and Sydney Roosters have participated in several community activations across May, with highlights below:

    • On 30th April, NRL and NRLW players along with staff including CEO, Joe Kelly and NRLW Coach John Strange visited the Glen for Men and Women. They had a chat with the men and women and toured the facility. Uncle Bob Morgan (Elder), Kristian Heffernan from NSWRL, and Joe Coyte (CEO of The Glen) spoke positively of the experience for all.
    • On the 1st of May we delivered an education workshop for 30+ Junior League Coaches, Team Managers, and Trainers at the Roosters CoE to upskill volunteers on “Tuning into Kids”. Amy Haddadi is a mum of 2 boys, a teacher, a family support worker, and a parenting coach. She delivered a great presentation and feedback from attendees was excellent. This was supported by the NSW Government Local Sport Grant Program.
    • On 7th April, we hosted 4 young indigenous leaders and their families from the Central Coast who were selected to represent the Roosters at the NRL’s Youth Leadership Summit on the 20th of They were introduced to the NRL squad and had a meal with players and staff following the successful presentation.     • On the 7th of April, we also hosted Chloe Saddler the granddaughter of Ron Saddler (Rooster #529) who designed the Club’s 2024 Indigenous Jersey. She presented the jumper to the NRL squad and staff after traveling down from Northern NSW. The jersey sits proudly in our reception area and will be worn by the NRL team on Saturday 25th May against the Raiders in Canberra as part of the 2024 Indigenous Round. More information here.
