Easts Together – September to October Highlights

  • The Easts Group and Sydney Roosters have participated in several community activities across the period, with highlights below:
    • 5 September – Brad Fittler and the Club hosted ~50 students and parents from PCYC centres across Regional NSW. Guests toured the Roosters Centre of Excellence and attended our final home game against South Sydney, an experience they greatly valued.
    • 5 September – Vinnies featured in our Community Corner for Round 27, activating with their vans in the precinct. Venues NSW donated hospitality and tickets for their partners and guests, who also enjoyed an on-field experience. Vinnies raised over $326,000 through direct donations, with additional support from Unibet, who contributed volunteers and LED inventory. Vinnies expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity we facilitated. Photos attached.
    • 8 September – Management attended the NSW Government’s Parliamentary Friends of Rugby League annual touch football match at Allianz, connecting with MPs Kellie Sloane, Marjorie O’Neil, Ministers Kamper and Dib, their staff, and former players Brad Fittler and Anthony Minichiello, who both took part in the game.
    • 11 September – Management attended a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at Bondi alongside emergency services, Council representatives, and members of the international community, honouring lives lost and recognising bravery and the enduring spirit of service.
    • 17 September – Management joined other clubs, codes, and Venues NSW in supporting the Wheelchair Sports Roll-A-Thon Corporate Challenge. Each team was allocated a sports wheelchair, keeping their wheels rolling for four hours around the Allianz Stadium concourse.
    • 29 September to 3rd Oct – 280 kids attended the Roosters School Holiday Programs from Randwick Public School, Paddington Public School and OLSH Randwick.
    • 30 September – Management, along with NSWRL and NRL management, attended the Pride in Sport CEO Breakfast and Pride Summit at UNSW.
    • 3 October – Joe Kelly and Management hosted League of Roosters clubs who were in Sydney for Grand Final Day. The Mackay Wanderers Roosters, comprising 21 juniors and 17 parents, enjoyed a special tour of the Centre of Excellence and Allianz Stadium. Each participant received a merchandise pack, and the group had a fantastic experience. Photo attached.
    • 8 October – The Roosters and The Glen Centre on the Central Coast came alive with energy, laughter, and community pride as the Arthur Beetson Family Fun Day brought people together for a celebration of sport, culture, and connection. KARI and WARD supported the day, including a BBQ, a game of touch, and Jasmine Strange put the kids through her Tiny Tackles Program. Dean Widders from the NRL and Mark Beetson, Head of Indigenous Affairs – Laing O’Rourke both attended and were complimentary of a great event. Pictures attached.
    • 8 October – Joe Kelly and representatives from Easts Group and Waverley Bowling Club attended a cheque presentation from Marjorie O’Neill MP. The local MP approved an application for $19.7k for bowling equipment and improved seating at Waverley Greens. Photo attached.
    • 9 October – Waverley Council school holiday clinic delivered as part of our community partnership agreement. Approximately 50 kids and their parents attended, including a BBQ provided by the Roosters. The remaining food and beverages were donated to Wayside Chapel.
    • 9 October – Maali Bartlett, Best & Fairest award winner from the U15 Berkeley Vale Panthers girls tackle team, joined Management at the NRLW Awards and co-presented the NRLW Community Impact Award to Olivia Kernick, also a junior from the Berkeley Vale Panthers on the Central Coast.
    • 14 October – Joe Kelly attended the Westfield Local Heroes Celebration Event at Westfield Bondi Junction.
    • 17 October – Easts staff and management attended and supported the Family of League’s annual fundraiser at Canterbury Leagues Club.
