Easts Group Pulls On the Denim for Jeans for Genes Day 2026

Thursday 6 August 2026

Today the Easts Group is proud to be getting behind Jeans for Genes Day, swapping our usual look for a pair of jeans to help kids facing birth defects and genetic diseases.

You’ll spot the denim across four of our venues taking part:

  • Easts Bondi Junction
  • Waverley Greens
  • Kingswood Sports
  • Berkeley Sports

Why we’re rolling up our (denim) sleeves

1 in 20 kids faces a birth defect or genetic disease — conditions like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and life-threatening metabolic disorders. That’s 12 kids born every minute worldwide. By fundraising, donating, or grabbing some gear, you can help find the treatments and cures these children so badly need.

Your impact

The families of the 1 in 20 kids facing a birth defect or genetic disease are used to hearing words like “incurable” or “lifelong effects”. It doesn’t have to be this way. Right now, researchers are working on gene therapy to find cures for previously incurable genetic diseases.

Kids just want to be kids. But instead of playing sports with their friends or catching butterflies on a sunny day, these kids are getting liver transplants, taking dozens of medications, or getting their next dose of chemotherapy.

Your support helps the scientists at the Children’s Medical Research Institute find cures, so these kids — and millions more like them — can go back to being kids. Thank you.

The Roosters are behind it too

Scroll down for a special video from the Sydney Roosters, with Millie Elliott and Blake Steep encouraging everyone to pull on their jeans and dig deep. If two of the Tricolours can get on board, so can you!

How to donate

There are two easy ways to chip in:

Every dollar goes towards giving these kids a fairer shot at just being kids. Wear your jeans with pride today — and thank you for your support.
